Pioneer's new portable navigation device, the AVIC-S1, will have map data from Navteq for the US and Canada, as well as 1.5 million popular points of interest (PoI) including gas stations, ATMs and restaurants. Road segments captured in Navteq can have as many as 160 different attributes including if the segment is a one way, maximum speed restriction, etc. The Pioneer AVI-CS1 features a big 3.5" touch-panel display, the AVIC-S1's maps can be extended using SD cards. The AVIC-S1 supports 2D and 3D views, voice guidance (in English, French or Spanish) and an intuitive Scroll Wheel to adjust the volume level of the guidance or scroll through menu items (the scroll wheel became popular with Sony Ericsson's P900 cell phone). Packing Bluetooth, you can use it as a handsfree device to make and receive calls on your cell phone.
